KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) -- The SME International Trade Association of Malaysia (SMITA Malaysia) and Crowdo have reaffirmed their commitment to assist local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in funding through crowdfunding.
Crowdo is a regional fintech startup offering a portfolio of peer-to-peer lending P2P lending and securities crowdfunding solutions.
In a statement Saturday, the association said it has been working with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Standards Malaysia and various government agencies locally and abroad to assist SMEs expand business globally.
"Malaysian SMEs have every potential to expand their business globally as their products are quite in demand in the international markets.
"To expand their business, sometimes they have to increase capacity and embrace new technology. Therefore, the basic requirement is funding," SMITA President Megane S. C. Soo said.
She said SMITA has been organising many trade missions and also host many incoming missions from various countries to assist SMEs in market access.
"The collaboration with CROWDO will definitely assist Malaysian SMEs to move forward faster," she said.
A memorandum of understanding signing ceremony between SMITA Malaysia and Crowdo on the partnership was held at the MATRADE office here, witnessed by MATRADE Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dzulkifli Mahmud.
